Lazy Days

This weekend was the first weekend in about month that we didn't have something to do or somewhere to be. It was really nice to have a couple of  "lazy days." I am looking forward to more days like this when I get out of school for the summer.

Eliza learned a new trick this weekend....

She can pull up! We are in trouble now! It's time to lower her crib.

Friday Favorites

I love these Nike shoes. They are so fun and colorful. Too bad the running shoes that actually work best for my feet are not this cute.

Have any of you ever tried Rent the Runway? My sister used it to rent a dress for the Carolina Cup, and she had a great experience with it. I have a few weddings coming up this summer, and I'm planning to give it a try. I already have my favorite dresses picked out!

How great is this beach chair?! It allows you to be completely and utterly lazy. You can lie down and read a book without having to use your neck muscles to pick your head up.  If I had come up with something like this, I might be able to be a stay-at-home mom because we'd be so rich from all the money we'd be making off of this great invention!

Who isn't a fan of the weekend? After the past few day I've had, I really need a relaxing couple of days. I hope you all have a great Friday!

Easter 2012

If you haven't already noticed from reading this blog, holidays are a big deal in my family. This Easter was no exception. On Sunday morning we woke up, and got dressed and ready to go to church. My sister has gotten involved in a new church that was recently started in Columbia, so we went there instead of going to the church where my parents are members. The sermon was very powerful, and the preacher did a great job of delivering the message of what Easter is all about. I had time to snap a few pictures before we left for church.

My brother, Monty, goes to Alabama, and he was home for Easter weekend. The Red Hot Chili Peppers were playing in Columbia on Saturday night, so he brought three friends home with him for the concert. My mom said she went in to Monty's room to wake him up for church, and when she asked him if he wanted to go with us, he looked at her and very politely said "No, thank you" and rolled back over in the bed. By the time we got back from church Monty and his friends were just waking up. We had lunch, and then my mom somehow convinced all of us to participate in an Easter egg hunt and a Peep display contest. It was quite an eventful day.

And the hunt begins...

It's time for the Peep arrangement contest.

**Disclaimer: I hope no one is offended by our Peep arrangements. It was all in good fun!

SB2K12

After moving and getting settled into our apartment, we went down to Columbia to visit my parents for the rest of my spring break. We had such a great week. It was so nice to be able to relax and spend time with friends and family. I got a little taste of what this summer will be like, and I am counting down the days until the end of the school year.

We spent some time at the park.

We went to see the Easter bunny.

(Just a side note...Personally, I found this Easter bunny extremely creepy. Maybe it's just me, but I was shocked when none of the children that were waiting in line ran away crying.)

We hung out by the pool.

We made Easter treats.

(so easy and yummy)

We hung out with Uncle Monty. And by hang out, I mean we pretended like our dogs were horses, and tried to ride them. At the rate Eliza is growing she's not going to be able to play this game much longer, so I'm going let her enjoy it while she can. :) I was in the grocery store the other day, and a woman just looked at me and said "That's a chunky baby." Anyway, I digress.

We visited with Mary Ruth and Katherine.

And we ended our spring break with a trip to the zoo!

 Rocking and ready to go!

Liza, chillin with all the children washing their hands.

And the meltdown begins. It's time to leave the zoo!
