Crunchy Coleslaw Recipe

Hi friends! I wanted to pop in and share one of my favorite recipes with y'all. This is my go-to side dish for summer cookouts. It's easy to make, and it will feed a big group of people. I hope you enjoy it!

Ingredients:2 bags of coleslaw, 2 bags of beef ramen noodles, 1 bag of slivered almonds, 1container of sunflower seeds, butter, sugar, soy sauce, canola oil, and apple cider vinegar

Brown the 3/4 a stick of butter with ramen noodles, sunflower seeds, and almonds in a pan on high for about 8-10 minutes.

Then mix that together with the coleslaw.

For the dressing, mix 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 cup of canola oil, 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar, and a splash of soy sauce. I just rinse out the sunflower seed container, and put it all in there. Make sure to mix everything really well.

Then mix the dressing in with the coleslaw, and you're done!

Ingredients:
  • 3/4 stick of butter
  • 2 packages of beef ramen noodles
  • 1 bag of slivered almonds
  • 1 container of sunflower seeds
  • 2 bags of coleslaw
  • 1/2 a cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of canola oil
  • 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
  • splash of soy sauce
Directions:
  • Brown 3/4 cup of butter  with the beef ramen noodles (just the noodles, not the flavoring), slivered almonds, and sunflower seeds on medium to high heat. I usually brown these ingredients for about 8 minutes, but just watch it while you're mixing it.
  • Mix the mixture from the pan with the coleslaw.
  • Dressing: mix 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 cup of canola oil, 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar, and a splash of soy sauce. Make sure to mix well.
  • Pour the dressing over the coleslaw mixture, and serve! (Note: Wait to pour the dressing right before serving the slaw because it can get soggy if you do it too soon. )

First & Last Day of School

Now that summer is more than half way over, I thought I'd share some of Eliza's last day of school pictures. Gosh, I've been slacking on the blog these days. I really have good intentions of updating more often, but just can't quite get here as much as I'd like. I promise I'll try to be back sooner rather than later! Hope y'all have a great weekend!

Independence Day

Happy Fourth of July, my friends! I hope you have a great one! We're loving life at the lake right now, and so happy that we're having some good weather because we were literally driving right towards Hurricane Arthur last night. My grandmother's lake house is about 45 minutes away from Wilmington, and we were expecting some bad weather, but it really never got that bad. We've been on the dock all day, and we're cooking out tonight. I hope you all have a great day celebrating our country's independence!
