Nursery Reveal

Ryan and I have been working on baby Eliza's nursery all summer, and it is finally complete! I have had so much fun putting it all together. Ryan, on the other hand, is probably glad to be done with it because I have been coming up with "little projects" for him to do all summer. I am so lucky to have a husband who is so handy! I also owe a big THANK YOU to my friend Caroline who has spent countless hours helping me decorate.

Paint: Wall-Agreeable Grey from Sherwin Williams and Ceiling-Bunny Nose Pink from Sherwin Williams

Rocker: The rocker was passed down to us from Ryan's sister. I had the cushions recovered for $100 with fabric from Tony's Fabric in Greenville.

Pendant Light: This is a lamp shade from Home Goods that I got for $12. I used the left over fabric from the rocker to cover it, and Ryan hung it.

Pink frame; Ryan and I made this frame from some wood he had left over in his shop. He put it together and I painted and distressed it.

Curtains: I had these made at Tony's Fabric in Greenville. This was my one big splurge for the nursery. I justified spending $350 on curtains because I designed the rest of the nursery around the curtains. I am planning to use keep these curtains in her room for a long time!

Armoire: $200 from Craig's List-changed out the knobs with new ones from Hobby Lobby. My mom graciously bought the knobs for us. Thank you mom!

Baskets on top of armoire: $12 each from Home Goods

Changing table: The table was also passed down to us from Ryan's sister. I painted the table Warm Stone from Sherwin Williams and used the same knobs that I used for the armoire from Hobby Lobby. Ryan's sister also gave us the changing pad, and I bought the cover from BuyBuyBaby for $20.

Basket on changing table: $10 from Home Goods.

Shelves: Ryan made the shelves and I painted them. All of the books and other things on the shelves were gifts from family and friends.

Collage wall: The "E" is from from Hobby Lobby. I just painted it with purple spray paint. All of the other frames are from Home Goods, Target and Hobby Lobby. I don't know exactly, but I probably spent around $30 on frames.

Crib: $60 from Craig's List-painted Ralph Lauren Regent Metallics

Crib bedding: Serena and Lily Punch

Mirror: $40 from HomeGoods-originally gold, but painted white so it didn't clash with the crib

Basket beside the crib: $15 from Home Goods

Lamp beside crib: We already had this lamp in our den, and just moved it to the nursery.

We have been so blessed by family and friends who have helped us stock up on all the essentials before she gets here. Now we are just waiting for her arrival! :)

One More Month!

I am 36 weeks pregnant today, which means in exactly one month (possibly sooner) we will get to meet baby Eliza! The nursery is ready, we have gotten all the necessary baby gear, read all the books, and taken all the classes. I have even packed Eliza's bag for the hospital already. Yes, I am OCD, and it has gotten worse throughout this pregnancy.

I can't believe how fast everything has flown by. I feel like I was just calling our family and friends to tell them that I was pregnant. I think the time is going to go by even faster now that I am back in school because I will be so busy over the next four weeks.

I have seen other people do this on Facebook and blogs, and I wish I had started it sooner, but here are a few pictures of me throughout my pregnancy. I have been very fortunate because, for the most part, I have felt really well over the past eight months. Of course, some days are better than others, but overall, I haven't had any major issues.

I am also hoping that I actually make it to my due date. I know you don't hear many pregnant women saying that they want to make it all the way to their due date, but I have had so many family and friends tell me that they need me to hang on as long as I can, so they can make it here when Eliza is born. Another reason I want to make it to my due date because if I do, I won't have to go back to work until January. I know as long as she is healthy it doesn't matter when she gets here, and I'm just hoping that I continue to feel well over the next few weeks!

30 weeks:

32 weeks:

34 weeks:

And my personal favorite....

Ryan and Sawyer at 34 weeks. Ryan says that he and the dogs are gaining sympathy weight, but I'm not so sure about that.

36 weeks:

She will be here before we know it!

Holy Yum

I made this recipe the other night and it was delicious! I have Ryan rate my recipes every time I cook, and I got a 9 on this one, which is saying a lot because his mom is a GREAT cook and he grew up with some awesome cooking.

Recipe found here

I lightened it up a little bit by using lean ground beef, low fat cheese, low fat sour cream, and low fat crescent rolls.

I also made a Weight Watchers key-lime pie for dessert, and to be only 73 calories per slice, it was pretty darn good.

Hurry Up Fall!

via
I am so ready for fall to be here! I know it is still the middle of August and it will probably be 100 degrees here until October, but I can't wait for fall fashion, football, pretty leaves, and Halloween. It is one of my favorite seasons! Hopefully by the time it gets cool enough to wear some of these cute clothes, I will be able to fit into my old clothes again. :)

Dear Belle,

You are so, so cute, but why do you still use the bathroom all over our house, tear things up, and jump all over people? You are almost one year old, and I would have thought you would've learned not to do these things by now. I am starting to think that Baby G is going to be potty trained before you are. You have such a sweet little face that it makes it hard to discipline you, but I am really running out of patience. Maybe your big brother, Sawyer, can teach you a thing or two.

Bon Voyage!

I can't believe my little brother is leaving for college today! I feel like it was yesterday that I was driving down to Columbia for his high school graduation, and now he is leaving!  Where did the summer go? I know he is sad to leave all of his friends, but excited to make many new ones. It is also his 19th birthday. Happy Birthday Monty! He is off to the University of Alabama, and I know he is going to have so much fun over the next four years. College was such a fun time in my life, and I would not change one thing if I could go back to that time in my life. Good luck Monty! I love you!

And here are a few pictures I found on my computer from my college days. Enjoy!

Testing, Testing, 1-2-3

This is my first try at a blog post. Just testing the waters! I have been thinking about starting a blog for a  while now, and I have finally caved. After stalking so many random people through the blog world, I am now an official blogger. Here are a few pics of me and my family.
