House Tour-Guest Bedroom and Bath

Hello there! This week has been crawling by for us. Eliza is done with school tomorrow, and I have two more long, slow weeks of school left. This has been a crazy year, and I don't know if I've ever been so ready for a school year to end. Does everybody else feel this way, or is it just me?

In other news, I've got a little peek at our guest bedroom for y'all. This is one of the only rooms in our house that looks about the same as it does when first moved in. In our other rooms, the furniture, fabric, pillows, ect. have been stained by the dogs, babies, and adults that have been in and out of our house over the past couple of years. This room gets a lot less traffic, so it's still in decent shape. We didn't do much to this room other than painting and adding a ceiling fan, but we did add on a bathroom. All of the furniture and bedding is the same as what we had in the guest bedroom in our old house, so we didn't have to buy anything new for this room.

  • White side table-from Value City Furniture (originally black, but we painted it white)
  • Table/green table skirt-We got the table from my parents when they moved a few years ago, and my mom made the table skirt for us.
  • Green lamp-from Marshall's Home Goods
  • Armoire- This piece of furniture was given to us by my aunt when she moved.
  • Chair-from Value City Furniture-It was originally white, but we had it recovered in a linen fabric

Mother's Day 2014

Hello friends! I'm still alive and blogging, just not as often these days! For the past couple of months, it feels like we've been on a roller coaster that just won't stop. I won't go into all the details here, but I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. I am done with school in three short weeks, and I can't wait for a slower days! We've had so much going on lately, and I also found out that I have a bulging disc/pinched nerve in my low back, which makes everything take twice as much energy. I am in a lot of pain, but the recovery for the surgery is six weeks minimum, so I really want to avoid that if possible. Please pray for me that I can find a way to heal my back without having to have surgery.

Last weekend, we met my family in Hendersonville, NC to celebrate Mother's Day. My sister is getting married at a camp in Hendersonville this weekend, and my parents had some things to take up there for the wedding, so we had a picnic at the camp. We had the best time; the weather was awesome and it was so fun watching Eliza play. I hope all you all had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend as well! We're off the celebrate my sister's wedding weekend! Hopefully I'll be back here sooner than later! Have a great weekend!
