18 Months

Eliza is 18 months today and I am actually posting this on time! I can't believe my sweet girl is so big! She is officially a toddler. I feel like time has been flying by since she turned one. She is very busy these days--always on the go and getting into everything! Here's a little update on what she's been up to lately.

Baby Must Haves 12-18 Months

Hi friends! I hope you're all having a good week! I just wanted to drop in and share a few of Eliza's favorite things with y'all.

Push Toys
Eliza is loving any toy that she can push these days. She's got a mini stroller, a grocery cart, and a little car, and she loves every single one of them. The weather has been really nice here lately, so we've had fun taking them outside and walking around the neighborhood.
Nuby Sippy Cups
I know some people are pretty particular about their sippy cups, and different kids like different ones, but the Nuby "No Spill/Flip It" has worked best for us. They've held up great and don't leak or spill, hence the name "No Spill."
Inchbug Labels
Speaking of sippy cups, Eliza has to have her cups labeled for school, and these Inchbug labels are the best! There are all kind of cute designs to choose from and they are very reasonably priced.

Boogie Wipes
We have gone through these things like they're going out of style. With Eliza being in daycare full time, she tends to get sick more often than not. She's also got a lot of teeth coming in right now, and that makes her nose runny too. I like the Boogie wipes better than regular baby wipes because they are salines wipes, and they're very gentle.

3 Marthas Hooded Towel
A family friend gave us one of these towels as a gift for a baby shower before Eliza was born, and I had no idea how much we'd use it. These are the best towels and they are such good quality that I know it will last for years. If you are looking for one, my friend Kelley, over at Peek-a-hoo sells them.
Books
Eliza is all about books now, which I love! My friends gave me a book themed baby shower when I was pregnant with Eliza, and I am so thankful to have so many great books. If you have a little girl, or know someone who does, this sweet little books would make such a great gift.

Toys That Make Noise
One of my best friends gave Eliza this little drum set for her first birthday party and she loves it. Eliza loves music and any kind of toy that makes noise.

Palmetto Bluff Weekend

Hey y'all! Happy Sunday and Happy Daylight Savings to you! Is anyone else as excited as I am about the time change? I love that we get a few more hours of sun now! Last weekend I mentioned that we were going to Palmetto Bluff for a wedding. It was the most beautiful place and these pictures don't really do it justice, but here are few of my favorites from the weekend.

Garlic Mushroom Chicken

Hey y'all! This is one of my mother-in-law's recipes and it is soooo good! A lot friends have asked for this recipe, and I'm finally getting around to getting it posted. Enjoy!

Ingredients
3-4 chicken breasts
2 pints of heavy whipping cream
2 pints of half and half
2 tablespoons of minced garlic
Plain bread crumbs
1/2 -1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 stick butter
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Wash, and then salt and pepper the chicken.

Roll the chicken in plain breadcrumbs.

Brown the chicken in a mixture of vegetable oil and butter.

Pour heavy whipping cream, half and half, garlic, and salt & pepper in a mixing bowl.

Place the chicken in a casserole dish and pour the mixture over the chicken.

Cover the chicken and bake at 425 degrees for 90 minutes.

After 90 minutes uncover and spread sliced mushrooms over the chicken. Bake the chicken for five more minutes.

Serve with rice pilaf and vegetables.

Just FYI, we keep all of our family recipes in a online cookbook called Tastebook, so it's really easy to find one when we need it. Last year we had the cookbook printed and gave it to family members for Christmas. It's a great present if you're ever tyring to come up with gift ideas.

Weekend Getaway and Celebrations

Hey friends! Happy Friday! Its been a while! We have been pretty busy over the past couple of weeks and I haven't had much time for blogging. Ryan and I are headed down to Palmetto Bluff for a wedding this weekend and I'm really looking forward to a fun and relaxing weekend. Today happens to be my birthday so it worked out perfectly that we got to have a little vacation at the same time. I hope y'all have a great weekend and I'll be back soon with pictures and some other fun posts!
